Carnivals and Auctions Galore! A Summer of Fun in Burnham Market!

Now, we are pretty biased when it comes to just how beautiful Burnham Market is; we have lived here a long time after all and you could say we’re part of it’s appeal! So close to the beach, we still benefit from that lovely ‘sea breeze’ when the wind direction is right, with just enough salt in the air to remind you of family holidays from your childhood.

There really is nothing better than seeing our lovely North Norfolk village bathed in the summer sunshine, with the fields around us all in full colour and every flower in full bloom. And speaking of flowers, we have the honour of The Burnham’s Flower Show and Carnival returning on Saturday 14th July! This traditional summer show is an event for all the family, and if horticulture is your thing, then you will be happy to see a selection of marquees that showcase the best of the seasons flowers, fruits and vegetables as well as local artwork, crafts and cookery.

When you add this to the Carnival Parade which boasts some spectacular handmade floats and a marching band, a funfair to keep the kids entertained, a selection of teas and even a licenced bar for those of you that like a tipple PLUS live music from popular local band Hard Rain and you can see why you should definitely come to Burnham Market!

The event starts at 2pm, with entry for adults just £2 and kids free (sorry, no dogs for this one) it’s an affordable day out for the family. And we have checked the weather and so far, and it is looking like a warm one!

Don’t forget that the annual summer Burnham Market Auctions have started again so if you have some treasures hidden away that you might want to sell, get yourself down to the Green every Monday through July, August and into September starting at 1pm.

As always, we will be open from 8:30am serving breakfast if you fancy popping in for food before either of these events, and if you need somewhere to stay, we have fantastic family rooms for you to book, including our Nelson’s Nook which is a self-contained and self-catering apartment style annex, just two doors down from our Country Inn.

Our beer garden is now completely ‘summer ready’, with seating, umbrellas and even some pretty flowers for the bee’s and yourselves to enjoy and it is an easy walk from the Green so you can wander up the road from the Carnival for a rest bite from the action, to grab a full meal off of our new summer menu or to simply pop in and say hello!
